We specialize in pasture board. We believe that horses do best in a herd situation. They get to move around, interact and be who they truly are. Many so-called “problems” are dealt with in a herd situation. People also learn about horse behavior when they take the time to observe their horses, and move in and around the horses in the herd.
The horses are integrated into the herd that works best for them. Each of the Liberty herds has ample pasture. The pastures are rotated throughout the spring, summer and fall to ensure optimum forage. In the winter, the horses are fed hay as needed.
All the horses are checked daily. We arrange the farrier, regular teeth checkups and wellness treatments with the chiropractor twice a year. We keep you posted on seasonal changes in supplements and on changes around the farm. We have access to a variety of horse-care professionals or you can utilize your own on an as-needed basis.
Pens are available for short-term recovery for horses, or at times when the horses need to take a break from the grass.
Indoor stalls are available on a limited basis (winter only, or for short-term stays). Winter stall boarders are turned out each day as a small herd. Blanketing and supplementing are provided as agreed for each horse.
Boarders have access to the riding rings and arenas, including the indoor heated arena.
Horse trailer storage is available. Each boarder is given space to store basic tack and equipment.
We truly enjoy having the horses on the farm. We also enjoy getting to know each one individually. Boarders get to know each other and their horses. Riding around the property, hand grazing or just sitting and watching the horses are all part of the experience and the fun. Some boarders joke about the fact that sometimes, they don’t really do much of anything when they come to Liberty Stables. Just being is all that’s truly required.
